Dr. Chalice C. Rhodes has recently become a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, adding to her extensive qualifications as a licensed, nationally certified, and board-certified Professional Counselor. She was also the first designee of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society’s virtual academy, becoming a certified Psychosocial Cancer/Oncology Behavioral Health specialist. This designation is particularly meaningful to Dr. Chalice, as she is a breast cancer survivor herself. Her personal experience has sharpened her sensitivity and skill, making her a competent and effective care provider for the survivorship population.

Dr. Chalice is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with an extensive background in counseling and psychology. She completed her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Rowan University, Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree specializing in Human Services – Counseling Studies from Capella University.
Dr. Chalice is a seasoned clinician with years of experience in counseling and family therapy. As a former Assistant Clinical Professor of Counseling and Family Therapy at Drexel University, she served as Director of Behavioral Health Counseling and was a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Board. Dr. Chalice has a passion for teaching and has trained Master’s degree students in Dr. Harry Aponte’s Person of The Therapist Training (POTT) model. Dr. Chalice has held various adjunct professor positions at universities, including Thomas Jefferson University. Congratulations to Dr. Chalice for earning the Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions “2020 People of Purpose” award and the Dean’s $10,000 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion research award. She has demonstrated impact and influence at Drexel University and continues to provide culturally sensitive and competent counseling services to her clients.
Dr. Chalice’s past post-doctoral work involved providing forensic psychological evaluations, family reunification therapy, and therapy to children, adolescents, couples, women, and families referred by the NJ Division of Child Protection and Permanency. In addition, she supervised a program that recruited, trained, and licensed foster parents in Philadelphia and supervised a partial hospitalization program for adults diagnosed with mental health and/or substance use disorders in NJ.
Dr. Chalice’s private practice dream became a reality in response to the novel COVID-19 pandemic. She completed the comprehensive TeleMental Health Training Certificate program and became a Board-Certified TeleMental Health provider. Her patients can have confidence in knowing that Dr. Chalice gained the additional knowledge and training needed to deliver TeleMental Health best practices. Her work has been featured on Susan G. Komen, 6 ABC News Philadelphia, ABC News Affiliate WTVM 9, the Voice of Canada, and SJ Mag Media.
In her free time, Dr. Chalice enjoys spending time with her two precious sons, gardening, singing, and dancing. She also loves all things water, including swimming, aqua workouts, snorkeling, jet-skiing, and water-skiing!
