Honoring Hispanic Heritage Month with Bexa’s Newest Examiner: Meet Angelica Ventureno
Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to honor the contributions of Hispanic Americans who have enriched our society and culture. At Bexa, we are excited to introduce our newest examiner, Angelica, who embodies the spirit of dedication and excellence in the medical field.
Angelica believes it is incredibly important that all women have access to early breast cancer detection and screenings. Her first memory of cancer screening awareness came from her mom, she came from El Salvador, where screenings are very limited, and she was always adamant about getting her screenings done in a timely manner. It made a lasting impact on Angelica’s outlook of how women from Hispanic backgrounds are at higher risk of breast cancer due to lack of early detection resources. She says, “I am greatly honored and privileged to be able to be bilingual and communicate these needs to women of the Hispanic community and ultimately provide them with Bexa Breast Exams”.
Angelica has been an ultrasound tech for the past six years. Her passion for helping others in the medical field began when she was just eight years old. She knew early on that she wanted to be a sonographer to help people. She had always been intrigued by how advances in the medical field could make a significant impact on women’s health and on the community.
Angelica is particularly passionate about the work she does at Bexa because she can see firsthand how early detection of breast cancer has positively impacted the lives of many women. She states, “It is incredibly fulfilling to be part of a company dedicated to helping women access this non-invasive and pain-free technology, which empowers them to take control of their health and increases their chances of successful outcomes”.
This technology also helps women in need across other countries, where access to advanced healthcare may be limited. Angelica feels honored to be a small part of the bigger picture, helping to save lives globally by providing crucial early detection services. Knowing that the efforts of Bexa extend beyond borders and make a difference to women everywhere gives her work a deeper purpose and drives her passion every day. She says, “I am grateful to be part of this journey, contributing to a cause that truly matters”.
September is not just about celebrating Hispanic Heritage but also about raising awareness. Early detection of breast cancer can significantly improve the chances of successful treatment. Non-invasive and pain-free breast exams are vital, and at the BEA we are committed to making Bexa Breast Exams accessible to all women.

The BEA and Girl Con are two powerhouse organizations that have united on a life-saving mission: bringing early detection breast exams to Bahamian women who need them the most. Through this impactful partnership, we will provide critical Bexa breast exams to 1,000 women in the Bahamas by February 2025—an effort that’s not only raising awareness but is also changing lives. Together, we are making a powerful difference in Grand Bahama, empowering women with access to care that is saving lives.
Both organizations were spotlighted for the incredible work we are doing collectively at the Bahamas Red Cross Society Renaissance Ball, which despite the absence of this major fundraiser for the past 17 years, the ongoing work of The Bahama Red Cross under the leadership of President Edison L. Sumner, has never ceased and continues to provide humanitarian aid for the less fortunate.
The theme was, “The Renaissance - Resilient, Renewed, Recharged,” which embodies the spirit of the Grand Bahama Centre, as well as the people of Grand Bahama. The delightful evening of elegance, excitement, and entertainment reset as Grand Bahama’s premier social event of the year.
