A Personal Mission: Sara Richburg’s Journey with Bexa Breast Exams
Sara Richburg, a dedicated community leader and advocate, has spent her life championing causes close to her heart. A native New Yorker and longtime member of the National Black MBA Association, Sara has always prioritized giving back to her community. Breast cancer awareness became a deeply personal mission for Sara after her mother passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 55—a loss that fueled her drive to honor her mother’s memory through advocacy and action.
In October, Sara had the opportunity to experience a Bexa Breast Exam at the Afro Pink Festival in Harlem. Despite already receiving her annual mammograms, she was drawn to Bexa’s innovative technology and its commitment to accessibility. Unlike traditional mammograms, Bexa’s screening process is non-invasive, radiation-free, and requires no insurance or identification, removing barriers that often prevent individuals from seeking preventive care.
“I was impressed by the compassionate and knowledgeable team,” Sara shared. “The screening was comfortable, the technology amazing, and it gave me peace of mind. What really stood out was how accessible it is—people in underserved communities don’t always have access to healthcare, and Bexa breaks down those barriers.”
Sara’s experience solidified her desire to bring Bexa Breast Exams to more communities. She recognizes the vital role early detection plays in saving lives and is committed to leveraging her connections and resources to support Bexa’s mission. “When something resonates with me, I support it. I raise money, I make introductions, and I give back because it matters,” she explained.
As someone who has raised substantial funds for organizations like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Sara isn’t just a supporter—she’s a dedicated advocate. She’s already working to leverage her corporate connections to help raise awareness and funding for Bexa, ensuring that the organization’s life-saving technology can reach those who need it most. “I’ve always believed in giving back, and I’ve seen how powerful it can be to bring together resources from different sectors. I want to help Bexa reach as many people as possible,” Sara explained.
Sara’s vision doesn’t stop there. She is working on establishing partnerships to expand Bexa’s reach, particularly in New York, where she believes the technology could make a huge impact. “The beauty of Bexa is that it’s scalable and portable. All we need is a small space, a massage table, and the device. “We can bring these life-saving screenings to any community,” she said.
Sara’s passion for Bexa’s mission is rooted in her desire to honor her mother’s memory and make breast health screenings accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. She’s committed to being an advocate for Bexa and helping bring their services to even more communities in need.
Through her determination and dedication, Sara is helping bring Bexa’s transformative breast exams to those who need it most, ensuring that more women have access to the early detection that can save lives.
Through her passion and dedication, Sara continues to honor her mother’s legacy and inspire change. Her experience with Bexa is a testament to the power of innovative solutions and compassionate advocacy in creating healthier communities.
